The Michigan Movie Critics Guild is pleased to announce the Best of 2024 winners in thirteen categories. The Michigan Movie Critics Guild was founded in 2023 and consists of a group of 15 film critics from “The Mitten”, who write and/or broadcast throughout the entire state of Michigan.
Each critic submitted their top five choices in the following categories: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Animated Film, Best Documentary, Best Ensemble, Best Screenplay (Adapted or Original), Breakthrough Award, Best Stunts and lastly The MMCG Award for Film Excellence; making for a total of 13 categories. From these submissions, each entry was given a point value and the top five in each category were placed on the final ballot. From there, winners have been chosen based on the same point system. Below are the nominees with winners in bold font. Time to see what made the cut in 2024!
