Time for a Reel SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 2 review

About the film (courtesy of Paramount Pictures):
After settling in Green Hills, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) is eager to prove he has what it takes to be a true hero. His test comes when Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) returns, this time with a new partner, Knuckles (voiced by Idris Elba), in search for an emerald that has the power to destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own sidekick, Tails (voiced by Colleen O’Shaughnessey), and together they embark on a globe-trotting journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

I have the honor of being a Reel Godfather and handing over the reins to an up-and-coming reviewer who perfectly fits this intended demographic. I proudly present a Sonic the Hedgehog 2 review, written by Cullen Agusti, 11 years old.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was a great movie. The plot was good and built very well off the first movie. It picks up where the first movie ended with Dr. Robotnik on the mushroom planet. The addition of the new characters Tails and Knuckles are a great addition to the cast and the story.

Throughout the entire movie all the CGI was great. The animations of Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were very well done. They did a great job blending the characters with the background and the different action scenes. The voice actors for the different characters did an amazing job of making them come to life.

This new movie gave the audience a better feel of the video games, by changing the settings many times like the different levels of the different games. The movie had a lot of funny scenes with Dr. Robotnik and his assistant. Those scenes came along just like the scenes in the first Sonic movie. This movie is two hours long which I thought was fine, but might be a little long for some people. The end of the movie was one of the best scenes of either movie. It almost felt like I was watching Marvel Studios’ The Avengers (2012). There is an end credit scene that you won’t want to miss.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a great sequel with the addition of the new characters. The CGI pulled it together very well. The plot was very exciting. Over all this is a movie you won’t want to miss! And luckily for you, it’s playing in theaters everywhere now.
