Time for a Reel THE BAD GUYS review

About the film (courtesy of Universal Pictures):
Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys – Dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Sam Rockwell), seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), short-fused “muscle” Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos), and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), aka “Webs.” But when, after years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.

Hey there, it’s Cullen again. The new movie The Bad Guys was great! I really liked the style of animation they used for this movie. The characters all had their own funny personalities. Mr. Wolf was the smooth talking leader. Mr. Snake was cranky and always aggravated. Mr. Piranha was always running around and was very energetic. The shark was always doing funny things during the heists and making changes to the plan. Ms. Tarantula was the smart tech team member.

Most of the scenes were also funny. The action was at all the right times and it didn’t slow down. The different changes between action and comedy helped me stay interested throughout the entire movie. They planned the heists like true “Bad Guys”. They knew there were multiple locked doors to get to their treasure, and they planned it all out. I really liked when they had to improvise during their heists.

The CGI helped bring the movie together. The voice actors helped all the characters come to life. This movie, at the end, gave you a great moral lesson. But if you want to know this lesson go get tickets to see this amazing movie. The Bad Guys is in theaters April 22, with early Thursday evening showings.
